Pickify Support

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Pickify is a private randomizer for iPhone and iPad with 18 ways to pick a name, split a team, play a quick game, or settle a decision. Its games run on your device, with no Pickify account, developer-operated server, advertising, analytics, or tracking. An internet connection is used only when Apple services are needed to start the free trial or buy the one-time unlock, and when you choose to open an external link.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in Pickify?

Pickify includes 18 modes: Dice, Coin, Cards, Wheel, Arrow, Shortest Straw, Escape, Knockout, Finger Picker, Select Card, Chomp, Twister, Mystery Box, 8 Ball, Team Shuffle, Quick Generator, Big Catch, and Glass Bridge.

Tap Surprise Me to open one at random. To rearrange the home screen, tap the sliders button, then drag the mode cards into the order you want. Your order is saved on the device.

Which devices and orientations are supported?

Pickify requires iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. It works in portrait and either landscape orientation on iPhone, and in all four orientations on iPad.

Do I have to pay before I can try Pickify?

No. Pickify is free to download and comes with 3 free days — but they do not start on their own. The first thing the app shows is an unlock screen carrying a Start 3-Day Free Trial button. Tap it and the whole app opens: every mode and every setting, nothing held back. The trial is a free item on the App Store, so it costs nothing and no card is involved.

That first screen is the front door rather than an advert you can dismiss — there is no cut-down free version behind it — and it tells you how long the trial runs and what the one-time unlock costs before you start. If you have already bought Pickify, tap Restore Purchase on that same screen instead.

When the three days are up the unlock screen comes back, and the app opens again as soon as you unlock it.

How much does Pickify cost?

Pickify is free to download, and the 3-day trial costs nothing. After it ends it takes a single one-time in-app purchase to unlock, and that payment is the whole price: there is no subscription, no monthly fee, no second purchase, and nothing inside the app costs extra afterwards.

Will I be charged automatically when the free days end?

No. Nothing can charge you automatically, because there is no subscription and nothing was ever set up to bill — the three free days are not a billing arrangement, and there is nothing to cancel. When they are up the app simply asks whether you want to unlock it, and if you never tap Unlock you are never charged a penny.

How do I know how long I have left?

Tap the crown button at the top right of the home screen. The unlock screen shows the days you have left and what the one-time unlock costs in your own currency.

I paid but Pickify is still locked

Tap Restore Purchase — it is on the unlock screen, and in Pickify’s settings. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it comes back on any device signed in with the same account, at no extra cost.

If restoring does not work, make sure you are signed into the App Store with the Apple Account you used to buy, then email us.

I reinstalled Pickify — do I get another 3 days?

No. The three days run from the moment you tapped Start 3-Day Free Trial, and that start is recorded against your Apple Account rather than on the device — so deleting and reinstalling, or signing in on another device, picks the same three days back up rather than starting new ones. If a reinstall does not pick up a trial that is still running, tap Restore Purchase.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple, so we cannot issue refunds ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Is Pickify private?

Yes. Pickify has no server, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party SDKs. It does not send your lists, results, settings, or prize progress anywhere. Its games work offline. StoreKit communicates with Apple to show the local price, start the free trial, and check or restore the one-time unlock; Pickify does not receive your Apple Account or payment details. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.

Is Pickify suitable for children and classrooms?

Yes. Pickify is rated 4+ and designed to be family-friendly: no chat, no sharing, no social features, and no advertising. It is a general-audience app rather than one directed at children, and it works just as well with a group of any age. There is no currency of any kind in the app and nothing can be bought inside a mode.

Picking and fairness

Are the results really random?

Yes. In direct-draw modes such as Dice, Coin, Cards, Wheel, Arrow, and 8 Ball, the result comes from the system random number generator. The animation then shows that result; it does not secretly choose a different one.

The interactive games use randomness in ways that match their rules. Big Catch shuffles the hidden fish values before anyone picks. Glass Bridge shuffles both the player order and the hidden safe path. Escape and Knockout play out their on-screen simulations and read the survivor from what happened. Team Shuffle is different again: it makes team sizes as even as possible and balances the strength weights rather than pretending every possible split is equally good.

Does tapping a particular card change what I get?

No. In Select Card the options are shuffled into the face-down cards when they are dealt, before anything is touched, so tapping the corner card every time and pressing Pick for me are exactly as fair as each other. Every card back is drawn identically for the same reason. Once the winner is up, the losing cards turn over too, so you can see the shuffle rather than take it on trust.

Why does the same name keep winning?

Because that is what random looks like over a handful of picks. Nothing in Pickify avoids or favours a previous winner, and no mode remembers who won last time when making the next draw.

Why does Quick Generator not repeat the last result?

When more than one answer is available, Quick Generator deliberately leaves out the immediately previous letter, number, emoji, or colour. Every other available answer has the same chance. This no-immediate-repeat rule applies only to Quick Generator, not to name-picking modes.

Why does the card mode never repeat a card?

It deals without replacement from a shuffled 52-card deck, so repeated draws behave like real cards. Start a new round to reshuffle.

Where did my results history go?

The list of recent results inside a mode is held in memory for the current session only. It is deliberately never saved, so it is gone when you close the app. Your typed lists, by contrast, are saved per mode and come back.

I typed names into one mode and they are not in another

That is intentional. Each list-driven mode keeps its own list, because the names on the wheel are usually a lunch menu and the ones in the bowl are usually a class list. Save a list as a favourite if you want to reuse it elsewhere.

How do weights work in Team Shuffle?

A weight from 1 to 5 represents a person’s relative strength or experience. Pickify first keeps team sizes as even as possible, then searches for a split whose total weights are as close as possible. Leave everyone at the same weight for an ordinary random shuffle. Names and weights are saved only on your device.

Mystery Box

How does the box work?

Open the Mystery Box mode and open a box. It lands on one of four tiers, and each rewarding tier hands over something from your collection:

Boxes cannot be bought. There is no currency of any kind in the app and nothing can be lost. Your very first box on a fresh install is a guaranteed Legendary.

Can I get the same prize twice?

No. A box only ever hands over something you do not already have, so no opening is spent on a duplicate.

What happens once I have collected everything in a tier?

That tier’s odds are paid forward. A finished Rare tier pushes a slice of its share up to Epic, a finished Epic pushes a slice up to Legendary, and if both are finished, Rare’s slice jumps straight to Legendary. The slice is paid again for every further box that lands on the finished tier, so a run of prize-less landings is still buying you a better chance at what you can still win. No tier ever gives away more than half of its own share — a tier that can no longer be landed on has stopped being part of the game.

You can see the live table at any time with the odds button in the Mystery Box screen.

Where do I see and equip what I have won?

The palette button on the home screen opens your skin collection; equip a skin from the picker inside the mode that wears it. Celebrations and win sounds are chosen in Pickify’s settings, and their galleries show what you have won and what is still locked.

I deleted or reinstalled the app and my prizes are gone

Unlocked prizes are stored in the app’s local data — there is no Pickify account or iCloud sync. Deleting the app normally removes them, although iOS may restore them when you restore a device backup that contains Pickify’s app data. The paid unlock is separate: it is tied to your Apple Account and comes back with Restore Purchase.

Settings and accessibility

How do I turn off sounds, confetti, or vibration?

All three are switches in Pickify’s settings: Sounds, Confetti, and Vibration. Turning sounds off silences the app entirely, including win sounds.

The animations are too fast, or too slow

Settings has an Animation speed control that applies everywhere, and a separate switch for each mode, so you can go straight to the answer in the ones you use most while leaving the rest animated. Pickify also honours the system Reduce Motion setting, which turns result animations off in every mode regardless of those switches.

Can I change the colours?

Yes. In settings, Appearance starts in Light and can stay in Dark or follow the system instead. The preference applies throughout the app and is saved on your device.

Does Pickify work with VoiceOver?

Yes. Every control is labelled, and each mode announces its result, so a round can be played and its winner heard without seeing the screen. Pickify also honours Reduce Motion.

How do I change the language?

Pickify has its own language picker in settings, with 32 languages, and it is independent of your device language — so a child can use the app in one language on a phone set to another. Right-to-left languages lay the whole app out right-to-left.

Shake to roll is not working

Shake-to-reveal uses the system shake gesture, which needs a reasonably brisk shake. If nothing happens, check that the mode you are in supports it and that you are not in a mode that waits for a tap instead.

The finger picker does not see all my fingers

Put every finger down and hold still for a moment: the picker waits until the set of fingers stops changing before it draws. Adding or lifting a finger while the gold highlight is walking restarts the draw with the new set. It reads only where fingers touch the glass — Pickify does not use the camera and does not read your contacts.
